Say hello to Budai, the fat laughing monk. Budai is a semi-historical Chinese monk who is venerated as Maiterya Buddha in Chan Buddhism. His jolly nature, humorous personality, and eccentric lifestyle distinguish him from most Buddhist masters or figures. This handsom Budai is hand carved from a wooden nut and jazzed up with some sparkly hematite around the sides. It is hand knotted on waxed Irish linnen with black ivory wood beads and bits of druzy crystal. It has a detail of turquise and red seed beads. The necklace is 32" long and Budai adds another 3" in length. No clasp. Like Budai himself, this piece is eccentric and charming, and will draw good karma to you all day long. This piece looks great layered or alone!
